Weekend Getaways

Milton-Freewater Drive-In Theater

Milton-Freewater, Oregon

Episode 5

To relive a blast from the past, or if you’ve only seen a drive-in theater in old movies, the Weekend Getaways crew found the spot for you. For some good old fashioned fun pull up to the big screen for a night of cinematic fun. The Milton Freewater drive in theater was built in 1955 and was purchased by the Spiess family in 1961. It’s been family owned and operated ever since. It's an important part of the community and continues to be a place for families and kids to gather to enjoy great entertainment. On your weekend getaway through the Walla Walla area, get back to simpler times with this rare experience. This gem is one piece of history you won’t want to miss while you visit Walla Walla. We recommend getting in early for a good spot and hitting the concession stands for popcorn, snacks and a slice of homemade pizza too.
