Right in the heart of downtown on north Howard Street is one of the best kept secrets Spokane has to offer. When you’re looking for something to eat while down town, keep your eye out for Soulful Soups. We’ve stopped in from lunch, dinner and into the evening and never been disappointed. It’s a funky little joint that mixes up fresh homemade soups on a daily basis. It opened its doors in 2001 and has been serving up 5-7 varieties of soup everyday since. Everyone on the Weekend Getaways crew has their own favorite, but we all agree the Tomato Basil will ruin your experience anywhere else you get it. This is simply the best. With over 100 recipes there is always something new to try. Their show stopper is their fresh baked beer bread. The secret is they use a brown ale to keep the beer bread moist. A local favorite this quaint restaurant always has a fun and eclectic vibe. Look for live music and trivia nights along with displays of local art. If you are looking for fun and good food you’ll find it here at Soulful Soups.
